Education is a top priority and FISD is an award winning district with quality faculty and staff, and tremendous community involvement.

Leading by example, FISD continues to be recognized in the area, as well as in the state, for test scores and accountability ratings. Its Academic Decathlon Team is known nationally and has more than a decade of consecutive state championships.

FISD has been named the Most Efficient Texas School District by the Texas Public Policy Foundation. The Band, Choir and Drama departments have been awarded exceptional honors annually. Friendswood High School has won the coveted Lone Star Cup for two consecutive years.

FISD developed and put into place a pre-engineering program that is now part of both the high school and junior high school. Partnerships with NASA-based businesses and corporate programs continue to enrich the innovative, rigorous academic programs. Athletics in FISD are strong and state competitive.

(Harris County residents)

The Clear Creek Independent School District (CCISD) is home to explorers and adventurers and is Leading the Way in the 21st Century! Nestled along the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston and the boating waters of the Gulf of Mexico, Clear Creek ISD proudly serves the educational growth of more than 38,000 students every year and continues to be one of the most desirable places to raise a family in the greater Houston area.

Clear Creek ISD is the 29th largest school district in Texas, out of 1,031 districts. The district employs more than 5,500 persons – 2,750 are teachers – and spans 103 square miles, 13 municipalities, and two counties (Harris and Galveston). Governed by a high performing Board of Trustees, Clear Creek ISD prides itself on involving all stakeholders in making curriculum, finance and policy decisions, all of which are made with the best interest of children in mind.

Clear Creek ISD is comprised of 26 elementary, ten intermediate and seven high schools. Each campus is led by a team of experienced and compassionate administrators, teachers and support personnel. CCISD is home to the state’s first Education Village. Ranked among the top ten construction projects in Texas, the village includes an elementary, intermediate and a high school on one piece of land. This pre-K-12 campus includes shared and multi-use facilities that have been created with a community of learners in mind.

CCISD students outperform their state-wide peers on all Texas standardized tests and college readiness indicators. It has a stellar record of continuous improvement and is passionate about eliminating the achievement gap among all student groups. Their passion has proven results with 96 percent of all students passing TAKS in reading and writing, 98 percent in social studies, 93 percent in math, and 93 percent in science (based on 2011 TAKS scores).

In addition to its regular educational programs, the district offers comprehensive, award-winning programs in the areas of career and technical education, special education, bilingual education, compensatory education, and gifted and talented education. The district is equally strong in fine arts and is known for top quality athletic programs. Support from community and outstanding parent teacher association volunteers and booster clubs is exceptional, providing an extra element of school and civic pride.

CCISD is recognized for superior financial management by state, national and international organizations. Clear Creek ISD especially appreciates its business and community partnerships and their substantial contributions to the district’s quality programs and recognized academic achievements.
